I don’t know much about this particular story, but I’m often confused at the Christian desire for truth in justice work while also being totally repulsed by honesty at the same time. The “Sons of Patriarchy” podcast and fans seem to be mad at, and penalizing, one of their own for being too honest.
“The American concept is freedom from restraint…But when Christ says, ‘The truth will set you free,’ he also says, ‘If you abide in my Word, then you are my disciples.’ That means there are limits…things you cannot do, even if you want to.” Alan Noble on What ‘Freedom in Christ’ Really Means
Amazing book overall. Loved the storytelling, the writing, the characters…loved everything about it really. I’d even considered it NDN literature though it’s not written by a Native. The “Chief Bromden” character was handled well. A beautiful yet tragic book.
“In Tewa, the word nung means both ‘earth’ and ‘us.’ Mountains, rivers and clouds are sentient beings who observe her every decision. You carry yourself differently, she said, when you’re surrounded by a world of witnesses.” – Rose B. Simpson
Excited to rejoin the Micro.blog ranks again after some years away. With the absence of any other online platform meeting all of my needs, I’m thinking this will be the place for me. It’s especially important to me after I’ve been learning more about the Indie Web and POSSE after being introduced to a lot of these principles on Mastodon. Looking forward to getting to know everything again and starting to post here much more often as an online home base.
